it seriously amazees me , how people can play these political games in open and get away with it !

I wake up .
I go out to the balcony , to inspect how the peaceful street of the suburban dwelling i live in , welcomes this pleasant february morning .
I take a deep breath , the coolish yet warm moisture filled air fills up my lungs , yet it feels like i'm fuelling my brain as i close my eyes and picturize the blood carrying the O2 flowing through the arteries and waking up neurons on the way , like a friendly female warden in some young boys dormitory .
I feel good .

Then I sit on the clubsofa , with hot tea in an earthen mug . I love that mug ; its curves , its color , the fact that its earthen .
The steam condenses on my glasses making everyting foggy . I clear that with the edge of my tee shirt .
The same steam makes its way through my partially open nostrils and deposits the miniscule amt of caffiene it carries , right on my medula oblongata .
I'vent even sipped the cuppa , yet it feels like i'm on speed !!
Then i taste the brownish hot sweet liquid , the sweetness - the caffiene - the heat , everyting working in combinatuion charge up my dead tongue . i can feel the caffiene being absorbed by the small pores of my tongue and entering the bloodstream .
aaaah ! heaven .
the hot liquid makes its way through the foodpipe , i can sense its movement as it settles in the stomach .
i feel good .

and then like a perfunctory ritual , i open the pandora's box !!
and things arent the same anymore .

I cant even begin to write about the flaws in that question !!

what is Indian Culture ?

Ok lets take in one at a time . What is CULTURE ?

def : " The totality of socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought. "

now what part of that sentence says that culture is defined by lifestyle followed in the middle ages !?!
why is what we do NOW , in the PRESENT , not CULTURE ?!

I say ...
watching bollywood movies is culture , eating cheap indo-chinese food off road side carts is culture , listening to rehman's work is culture , participating in college fests is culture , jogging or (in some cases) not-jogging in the morning is culture , wearing kurta and jeans with jholas or switcher tees is culture , hanging around with friends in the canteen in culture , worshiping cricket is culture ,watching american comedy sitcoms is culture , group studies one day before the exam is culture , talking about science / politics / sports and culture in culture , reading books - indian author or foreign is culture , swearig - wether in punjabi or italian is culture , chatting on the net is culture , smsing is culture , doing thigs to make your folks happy is culture , fighting against wrong is culture .... anything ppl do is culture ; and as ppl evolve with time , so does culture .

so what exactly is "Indian Culture" ?
Where do you draw the line ?
and , more importantly , Who draws this line ?
It's a collective phenomenon , and the patterns keep changing with time .
No one person or group has any right , authority or power to change these patterns .

Now all these ppl who want to stick by " doble quotes - INDIAN CULTURE - double quotes " .
what do you want from us ?

that we start living like how we used to in 12th century ?!!
tell you what , I say lets go even before that ... lets all become "early men " . come to think of it that is our TRUE culture . I say lets walk around in our birthday dresses and start hunting !!

Coming back to Valentine's Day :
a. I personally feel it's a product of consumerism in India . But so what ? If anything , it's only providing business opportunities and aiding commerce .
b. It's an yearly reminder , asking me to kill myself for being single , at a time when even King Kong has gotten himself a girl friend !!

i've not blogged for a long time now , cuz i've been rather tensed/gloomy/confused ; and i dint want that to get into my posts .

but the face of this blog ( and perhaps many other ) is soon going to change .
i'll tell you wat else will change : the face of our nation , for the good .

>> for starters , watch 'Rang De Basanti' and get pepped up and please dont ruin the spirit by calling it a movie .
it is not , just a movie . the guy is trying to tell something . assimilate that . and it's again not about INDIA and feeling all patriotic for a couple of days and then writing GRE and scooting out of the country . it's about REBELLION AGAINST OPRESSION .

>> you dont have to leave your jobs and go about doing social service just for the heck of it .
in your own schools and colleges and work places and homes , every time you feel that something unfair is being done , protest .
and try protesting shrewdly . dont try finding localised shortcuts . they are not solutions to the bigger problem . also try protesting collectively (and definitely peacefully) . but if people dont give in then protest alone , the crowd just might come . but dont be a pussy and atleast fucking protest .

>> when you are siting in the canteen wirth friends , or smoking on the street corner , or just hanging around generally , and some one says " Dude we can do this " and you go " It's India man , nothing can happen here " . Ya well dont do that !
yes it's true that to get things done , it's difficult out here , but this attitude must change , only then will there be some change in the upcoming generation . and the change will be substantial .

>> try to make some small improvement in your daily chores , we are fuckin one billion people , the integeration of this small thing will obviously be HUUUUUGE .

what i've said so far , aint smthn u ppl already dont know , and i aint anyone to tell you what to do , but if we all are so fuckin smart we shud be making some CHANGE .

the time is just right , we are looking good economically , intellectually , mass media wise .

bhagat singh et all , had noting man . no cash , no info , no major mass media drive . yet they did something phenomenal .
so if each of us do smth , even small , in the info-age , things WILL change . they just have to change .

so lets do IT . lets make some big / small contribution towars developing our societies ( for our own good , this aint charity ).
